During the EXPO FERROVIARIA in Milan, held from 28 to 30 September 2021, the first intelligent maintenance train called DIC-80 is presented. Made by Geosintesi spa, a leading company for environmental engineering and infrastructure maintenance. The project, launched three years ago and presented to the European Parliament in 2017, has as its main objective the reduction of emissions of pests used along railway routes. We Plus Group, has designed and implemented a highly technological system able to provide all the information relating to the surrounding environment on which to intervene, making possible the controlled and selective action of weeding systems. The project was structured according to three fundamental work processes, through an AGILE/SCRUM development management, with plans released weekly. Thanks to the creation of three specific applications, connected to the laser scans implanted on the train and functional for the real-time detection phase of the existing vegetation, a predictive analysis system was created for the possible infrastructural problems present on the railway network. The management of intervention plans, monitored by a Web App and the detection of information through mobile tools that are easy to use by technicians and operators involved in on-site detection and manual interventions, make the management and collection of information simple and immediate. A third Application, OnBoard, processes the data collected during the train ride, allowing you to manage all the information acquired during the route in such a way as to obtain precise measurements along the entire railway line of interest.
