MANUWORK

Balancing Human and Automation Levels for the Manufacturing Workplaces of the Future

Future production will be characterized by the complementarity between man and automation, especially with regard to the production of highly customizable products. This requires new methods and tools for the design and operation of workplaces optimized in terms of ergonomics, safety, efficiency, complexity management and job satisfaction. MANUWORK aims to focus on developing an integrated platform for managing the production workplaces of the future.

This is done through the development, implementation and verification of various technological components such as a framework for adaptive support for the production area and for industrial social networks, based on an industrial social networking platform (ISN), i.e. RAPpID, and methods for knowledge acquisition and social analysis.

An important goal is the active and passive use of information by workers, without storing personal data, in order to maintain the confidentiality of the person involved. This is done through the direct use of data for the calculation of the factors of workplace patterns for the dynamic assignment of workers based on the groups to which they belong (e.g. age group). Finally, MANUWORK develops and validates technological and research developments in three industrial pilot demonstrators (aerospace, automotive and people with disabilities), following a validation in an industrial pre-pilot (machine tool sector).
